St. John's Singers

The St. John’s Singers was established in October, 2008. Formerly the adult choir of the parish, the St. John’s Singers provides the music for the Latin Novus Ordo High Mass each Sunday (10:45am).

In addition to these responsibilities, the choir sings for the Masses and services of Holy Week and performs a 45-minute choral prelude to the Christmas Midnight Mass. Conducted by music director Jeffrey Alban, this choir sings varied S.A.T.B. repertoire ranging from Renaissance polyphony to twenty-first century music.

The choir currently consists of twenty-five volunteer members from the parish. New singers, ages 14 and older, are always welcome. There are no auditions and no previous singing experience is necessary. Rehearsals are scheduled for every Thursday from 7:30 — 9:30pm in Fr. Ruehl Hall.

For more information. contact Dr. Jeffrey Alban by email jalban@sjtb.org or call (540) 635-3780.
